Trip Itinerary
Day 1. Cusco - Machu Picchu - Cusco
We pick you up from your hotel early this morning (6AM) by bus and take you to the Poroy train station. From here we board the train to Machu Picchu, which translates to Old Peak. The three-hour journey takes us through the spectacular scenery of the Sacred Valley, closely following the Urubamba River to the town of Aguas Calientes, also known as Machu Picchu Pueblo. From Aguas Calientes it’s a short bus ride to Machu Picchu where we will take a 3 hour guided tour. After our tour we will have the opportunity to climb Wayna Picchu, the mountain that towers over Machu Picchu, or walk to Inti Punku - the Gate of the Sun.
After exploring this unforgettable site, we take the return bus to Aguas Calientes, and transfer for the return train to Cusco.
Note: If you would like to spend an extra day in Machu Picchu for a second non-guided visit we can arrange this for you. Please notify us of your requirements three (3) weeks in advance.
