Trip Itinerary

Day 1. City Tour (half day)

We will pick you up at the airport to your hotel; you will have free time in the morning, and a rest to help you acclimatize to the altitude (3,360mt-11,022ft).
At 1:00 pm we will visit the Koricancha a main temple during the Incas time, and the archeological remains around the city like Sacsayhuamán, Qenqo and Pucapucará.
Return at the hotel at 5:30 pm approximately.

Day 2. Sacred Valley

We pick you up from your hotel, drive through the Sacred Valley to the archeological sites;

Pisaq: We visit to the archaeological site, great scenery to observe the magnificent architecture of farming terraces in the side of the hills and the local artisan market.

Chinchero: The main attraction is the colonial church with beautiful old paintings both inside and out. It's set on one side of a square, which like the church itself is built on Inca foundations.

Ollantaytambo: Is a town and an Inca archaeological site in southern Peru some 60 kilometers northwest of the city of Cusco. It is located at an altitude of 2,792 meters above sea level in the district of Ollantaytambo, province of Urubamba, Cusco region. During the Inca Empire, Ollantaytambo was the royal estate of Emperor Pachacuti who conquered the region, built the town and a ceremonial center. At the time of the Spanish conquest of Peru it served as a stronghold for Manco Inca Yupanqui, leader of the Inca resistance. We will enjoy a lunch of traditional Andean fare in town.

Day 3. Machu Picchu

After an early breakfast we will pick you up from your hotel, and take you to the Poroy train station by bus. From this point we will take the train to the ancient Inca city of Machu Picchu. The three hour journey takes us through the spectacular scenery of the Sacred Valley closely following the Urubamba River to Aguas Calientes, also known as Machu Picchu Pueblo. We will take the bus from Aguas Calientes to Machu Picchu, where we will have a 2 hour professionally guided tour. After our tour we’ll have free time to explore on our own, including the opportunity to climb Wayna Picchu or walk to Inti Punku - the Gate of the Sun.
After exploring we will take the return bus to Aguas Calientes, and board the return train to Cusco.
Note: If you would like to spend an extra day in Machu Picchu for a second non-guided visit we can arrange this for you. Please notify us of your requirements three (3) weeks in advance.

We will transfer you to the airport for your outbound flight, and thank you for spending your time in South America with us.
