Manu Bird Paradise 4 days
Manu National Park is a cloud forest in the southern part of Peru, near Cusco. It is the largest National Park in Peru. The Park has one of the highest levels of biodiversity in the world because of its geographical location and it is home to over 1000 species of birds.
During this four-day trip you are going to experience the beautiful cloud forest with its wonderful flora and fauna. You will be able to see various bird species as well as monkeys. Moreover, there is a chance to see plantations and view the historical Inca culture.
Day by day:
Day 1 Cusco – Paradise Lodge (bus and hiking)
After an early departure from Cusco, we will travel through the diverse Andean landscape. On our journey it is possible to spot highland birds. We will pass pre-Inca Lupaca culture burial towers before arriving at the colonial-era town of Paucartambo. This town is the gateway to the Manu forests and we will have time to visit the local church and the historic Carlos V Bridge. We will continue to the Acjanaco Pass, the official entrance to Manu National Park. You will spend your night in our comfortable Paradise Lodge.
Day 2 Paradise Lodge – Lodge (bus, hiking and boat)
Before breakfast we will take our first walk in the cloud forest to observe the cock-of-the-rock as it performs its daily ritual. After breakfast we are leaving for Pillcopata, during this trip we will pass plantations of manioc, papaya, pineapple and coca leaves. These forests are home to squirrel monkeys and brown capuchin monkeys. Besides, there will be a chance to spot a variety of birdlife.

Day 3 Amazon Basin – Clay Lick – Paradise (boat and bus)
Today we will visit a macaw and parrot clay lick to see several species of parrots and macaws gather at riverbank clay to feed. Later we will go for a long leisurely walk along the forest trails in search of birdlife and other fauna. In the afternoon we will travel by boat to the port of Atalaya.

Day 4 Paradise Lodge – Cusco (bus)
In the early morning you will have another chance to observe the male cock-of-the-rock performing its daily mating dance. After breakfast we will board our bus for the return trip to Cusco. On our way to Cusco, we will stop at various places, such as the Sacred Valley of the Incas and the Inca archeological site of Pisaq.
